Announcement: Letters for Continuing Faculty Sought

The following faculty members are being considered for promotion to senior continuing status or senior continuing reappointment:

• Sarah Hauss, Theatre and Dance (CF promotion review)
• Jill Patterson, Theatre and Dance (CF promotion review)

Letters written on behalf of these candidates should address the criteria for promotion as stated in the Faculty Manual. The Kendall Center has provided a useful document with strategies for reducing implicit bias in recommendation letters; this will be a helpful reference in crafting letters on behalf of continuing faculty candidates.

Letters are due Monday, September 22, 2025, by 4:00 p.m. All members of the Gustavus community are invited to submit letters. Candidates will have access to their letters.

Please note: Letters should be addressed to Provost Brenda Kelly, but should be emailed directly to her assistant, Shanon Nowell (snowell@gustavus.edu). Acknowledgment will be sent upon receipt.
